There are only a few easily accessible spots in the world where anglers stand a reasonably
good chance of catching marlin just a few miles offshore, and the latest appears to be Punta
Cana in the Dominican Republic. The area is beginning to attract the attention of big-game
enthusiast, among them Capt. Paul Ivey. The Punta Cana area offers a dramatic chain of seamounts
just a few miles off Punta Cana, and it is in the path of predators migrating along the east coast of
the Dominican Republic. The prime time for billfishing runs from April to August. May
appears to be the best month for white marlin, with good action continuing into June. Both
species of Atlantic marlin seem to be most abundant in spring, but reports suggest that the
biggest blues are caught in August.
Our full-service marina is located on the southern end of the resort and features two docks
with mooring for 43 vessels up to 70 feet in length. An eight-foot deep access channel is
protected by a water break.
